Between the Stripes daily transfer update 17/11/17

Waterford FC are grabbing the majority of today's transfer headlines following this afternoon's double signing announcement of midfielder Bastian Heri and striker Ismail Akinade. Arriving from Limerick FC & Bohemians respectively the duo were among the Premier Divisions most sought after stars with Cork City reported to be interested in both players. While Akinade's impending move to Waterford had been well documented for many weeks now, the capture of former PSG youth Heri certainly raised a couple of eyebrows among LOI fans but for all the right reasons from a Waterford point of view. Since arriving into Irish football with Waterford's Munster rivals Limerick, Heri has been a revelation making 29 appearances for the Market Fields outfit in 2017. Despite having already played senior football in France, England and of course Ireland, Heri is still only twenty-five-years-old and considering the experience of the likes of Paul Keegan have also signed up for next season with the First Division champions, Waterford fans have every right to be excited for the arrival of the Frenchman.

Staying with the "Blues" it seems as if former Derry City striker Davy McDaid may have played his last game for the club as talks with Irish premiership side Linfield have reached an advanced stage. Despite scoring in exactly half of his twenty-six appearances for Alan Reynolds league winners last season, it appears as if McDaid's time is now up with the arrival of Bohemians striker Ismail Akinade finally confirmed.

On the strikers front, Galway United's hottest property Ronan Murray is reportedly on the verge of signing for Stephen Kenny at Dundalk FC. Having already lost out on Akinade, Cork City will be desperate to try and persuade Murray in a move to Turners Cross if their reported interest in the youngster is indeed correct. However, according to Murray favors a move to Oriel Park and will put pen to paper on a deal in the coming days. In other fresh transfer news, Shamrock Rovers boss Stephen Bradley today got the ball rolling on putting together the "Hoops" squad for 2018. Signing new deals at the Tallaght Stadium this afternoon were Graham Burke, Brandon Miele, Gary Shaw and goalkeeper Tomer Chencinski. Midfield man Miele had been touted as a possible Dundalk transfer target in recent days but supporters of the seventeen-time league winners will be delighted to see one of the countries finest midfield talents retained for the coming season.
