Between the Stripes morning transfer update 17/11/17

The future of Dundalk FC could be about to take a dramatic swing with the Irish Times reporting the previously reported American take-over bid could be completed for the County Louth side in as little as two weeks! The Times, who have led the way on this proposed takeover throughout, have this morning reported talks have now reached the legal stage which council for proposed new owners Peak6 engaging with the clubs current owners.

Again according to a source of the Times, a redeveloped 7,500 seater stadium and new training ground will be delivered by the group who also own a 25% share of Bournemouth AFC. The American investment should see a sizeable increase in playing budget for current manager Stephen Kenny, who the group have signalled they not only wish to oversee the project but to sign another long-term contract with the ‘’Lillywhites’’.

This will come as music to the ears of Town fans who are currently fearing the departures of Robbie Benson, Patrick McEleney and David McMillian from the club.

Despite full-back Sean Gannon signing a new three-year deal at Oriel Park last night, Patrick McEleney is this morning being linked with a return to former club Derry by the Derry Times. Benson and McMillan on the other hand continue to be linked with moves to British football with McMillan reportedly extremely keen on a move to Scottish club St.Johnstone.

In other transfer news this Friday morning, Bohemians striker Ishmail Akinade is expected to complete a long touted move to newly promoted Waterford this afternoon.
