Finn Harps have re-signed former loanee striker Ciaran O’Connor following the twenty-one-year olds departure from local club Dundalk.

Registering five goals in just fourteen appearances for the Donegal side during a six-month loan spell, O’Connor was then sensationally snapped up by Harps Premier Division rivals Bohemians on loan until the end of the 2017 season but found game time much harder to come by at Dalymount Park. With the red-hot ‘’Bohs’’ duo of Ishmail Akinade and Dinny Corcoran terrorising defences up and down the league, O’Connor had to settle for a bit part role as Keith Long’s charges finished in an impressive mid-table position.

The loss of O’Connor to Bohemians mid-season played a huge role in Finn Harps ultimate relegation to the second tier as Ollie Horgan’s men ended up relying heavily on the rejuvenated Eddie Dsane, while former Cork striker Danny Morrissey missed huge chunks of the season through injury.

O’Connor, the brother of Shamrock Rovers star Michael, follows the likes of Paddy McCourt, Gareth Harkin and Aidan Friel in signing for the promotion hopefuls in recent days.
