Despite the transfer window slamming shut recently, struggling Limerick FC have dipped their toes into the free agents pool with the addition of twenty-eight-year-old midfielder, Barry Maguire.
Maguire is well remembered for scoring FC Utrecht's fourth goal in their 4-0 win over Celtic in the Europa League play-off round win in August 2010. After a move to Norwegian football in 2015, where Maguire played played three times and scored once for FC Sarpsborg, the midfielder surprisingly fell down to amateur football with TEC in Holland and excelled at this level.
Maguire has made underage appearances for both Ireland, from where his father hails, and for Holland and Tommy Barrett will be hoping his new mans pedigree will shine through as Limerick face into an extremely tough set of upcoming fixtures.
