Come join us, we're recruiting!
Founded in January 2016 as an unofficial Longford Town FC news site, BetweenTheStripes.ie has experienced rapid growth over the past three-and-a-half years, evolving from a basic blogspot account designed to cover the fortunes of a single club to a media outlet covering the League of Ireland in its entirety through a modern website, hit weekly podcast, online TV station, live match commentary service and social media platforms. In fact, it’s fair to say there are very few, if any, League of Ireland outlets offering such a diverse spread of content across so many different mediums and platforms.
As a result, BetweenTheStripes.ie is on the hunt for fresh talent to join our team with opportunities arising across many different sectors within our brand at present. Currently, we are relying on a very small group of up and coming reporters to help run our website, TV channel and social media platforms and with new features constantly being announced and with more in the pipeline, we are in serious need of fresh recruits to come and join our team.
BetweenTheStripes.ie has proved to be a great starting point for many individuals prior to their big breakthrough in the world of sports media and broadcasting, with college students to simple volunteers with an interest in media all being given an opportunity to develop their skills, gain important experience and build a reputation off the back of their work with us.
Below are just some of the positions we are looking to fill with a rough guideline of what each position entails. If you feel you can be of assistance to BetweenTheStripes.ie in a role not listed below, feel free to contact us via the form on our website or get in touch with us on Twitter, Facebook or by emailing us directly on BETWEENTHESTRIPES1924@GMAIL.COM
WRITERS: BetweenTheStripes.ie is unique to the multiple other fine LOI websites available to followers of the domestic game. With so many other outlets already offering the same news stories, match reports, previews etc we have based our website on breaking exclusive news stories, writing engaging opinion pieces, conducting quality long form interviews and soon we will be launching weekly columns from high profile figures around the league.
However, at present we do not have anywhere near as much written content on our site as possible due to a lack of man power. If you have a passion for sports writing, interviewing big names from around the league or want to pen some interesting opinion pieces, we want to hear from you.
No previous experience is required (but is certainly welcomed), over eighteens only. Apply now by emailing BETWEENTHESTRIPES1924@GMAIL.COM
TV REPORTERS: Fancy the idea of conducting post-match interviews with some of the biggest names in Irish football for Between the Stripes TV on YouTube? Like all of our positions advertised today it’s 18+ only but again, no experienced is required, although we may ask you to send us a mock interview to ensure a good standard of work.
For this position, you may need to spend a very small amount on some basic equipment (tripod, microphone etc) but we will recommend what you need to get and where to find it. As a result, we ask if you apply for this position you show a certain level of dedication in terms of being able to attend matches on a regular basis.
We need reporters for all 20 LOI clubs at present and full training will be offered. A fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in a career in broadcasting.

MATCH REPORTERS: Another new feature set to be rolled out over the coming months by BetweenTheStripes.ie is video updates from LOI matches on our Facebook, Twitter & Instagram accounts. Essentially, a social media version of Soccer Saturday, we hope to have a reporter video in their goal updates, half time and full time reports for use on our social channels on LOI match days.
This is perhaps the most accessible position we have on offer at present, as it allows those who wish to still watch their favorite team with their mates in their usual seats or standing area to do so as we only require a maximum 30 second clip for each update during a game, meaning those who wish to still support their team on match day can do so, while those who wish to dip their toes into the world of media can perform this role from the press area, it really is open to everyone. Over sixteens only, no previous experience required, no equipment costs, APPLY TO BETWEENTHESTRIPES1924@GMAIL.COM - Again, we need reporters for all 20 clubs for this role.
