First Division review - Round 8

Longford Town let a 1-0 lead slip with the last kick of the game in Drogheda on Friday night as the hosts grabbed the headlines in the big game of the weekend in the First Division. UCD gladly took advantage of their title rivals dropping points as the "Students" came from behind to defeat a struggling Finn Harps side, while Cabinteely pulled off the upset of the round with a 2-0 Dublin derby win against high-flying Shelbourne. Elsewhere, Cobh defeated a hopeless Athlone Town outfit, while Wexford FC were also comprehensively beaten by stuttering Galway United.

First Division review - Round 6

In what was another big weekend of First Division action, Drogheda United put a halt to UCD’s blistering start to the season with a two-nil victory over the “Students”, while Shelbourne pummeled a poor Athlone Town by seven goals to nil. Wexford FC held Stephen Henderson’s Cobh Ramblers at Ferrycarrig Park and in the final game of the weekend, Longford Town dismissed Pat Devlin’s Cabinteely 3-0 in the Midlands with Galway United's trip to Finn Park postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Premier Division review - Round 10

In what can only be described as an utterly incredible night of Premier Division action, Shamrock Rovers finally cracked the Dundalk FC defensive code as they scored against the "Lilywhites" but eventually fell to a defeat in front of the RTÉ Cameras. There was incredible drama at the RSC as Waterford landed that big statement of intent win over Cork city, while St.Patrick’s Athletic demolished a desperately poor Bray Wanderers at Richmond Park. Elsewhere, Bohemians played out a scoreless draw against Limerick at Dalymount park, while Sligo Rovers fell to another home defeat against Derry City at the Showgrounds.

Premier Division review - Round 8

In the latest round of SSE Airtricity League Premier Division fixtures, Waterford FC continued their brilliant start to their first season back in the big time with a huge win over Shamrock Rovers. Elsewhere, there were wins for Bohemians and St. Patrick’s Athletic, while Dundalk continued their strong early season form with a win up in the North-West against Sligo Rovers.

In what was another barnstorming weekend of top quality First Division action, Drogheda United clawed back a two-goal deficit against Galway United Park, while UCD came out on top against Cabinteely in the South Dublin Derby. Elsewhere, there were wins for both Finn Harps and Shelbourne, who overcame Wexford and Cobh Ramblers respectively. Unsurprisingly, Longford Town swatted aside a poor Athlone Town challenge by a hefty margin.
